| | 1. Active participation - Points are earned each day based on the students daily record of attending class, dressing down and paricipating in the days activity.
2. Personal/Social development - Students earn points for demonstrating respectful, courteous behavior. Good behavior includes listening, following directions and working well with others.
3. Work ethic - The amount of effort given in the activity and the ability to stay on task.
4.Physical fitness - There will be more focus on the 5 components fitness. Improving your cardiovascular system, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and nutrition is crucial to having a healthy life. Students will work on fitness in class. Personal improvement will be momitored and encouraged.
5. Knowledge and performance - Knowledge of terms, rules and stategies of a given activity. Also, the ability to learn and apply skills of that activity.
A student earns an "A" in physical education by participating everyday in class. The "A" student in physical education has impeccable behavior and always does the best they can. That student is cooperative, has a positive attitude and shows respect to classmates and teachers. The "A" student is on time and ready to participate on a daily basis. | |

| | Physical Education is a variable credit class. A student can earn up to 5 units of credit per semester. Activities are divided into 1.0 or 1.5 units of credit. | |

| | Any student who has fallen behind and is failing to meet participation requirements will be given the opportunity to do make-up work. The semester is divided into 3 grading periods - 6 weeks each. Make-ups are to be done after 4 non-participation days. Absences,and suit-cuts are considered non-participation. Parental notes and medical excuses are accepted but work needs to be made up. Physical Education is a class that requires active participation on a daily basis. The class is variable credit and students need to be in class, participating, on a regular basis to earn that credit. Make-ups will be offered 3 times a grading period. Usually the last week of the grading period on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at lunch. Students are to be dressed down and meet at the track. If weather does not permit the use of the track then an alternative site will be used.
